Keep Tracking!

Don't get lazy and quit tracking! Track your food and your activities! Come on now, it's only been a little over a week!

A New Breakfast

In hopes of starting to cut points somewhere, so I dont' go over everyday, I have tried to come up with random things to eat. I have always ate peanut butter for breakfast but as it turns out it is quite a few points and since I don't work out a lot then it really hurts me more than helping me.

So my new breakfast is only 3 points totally which I think is pretty good. Well it is really 5.5 with a glass of milk but still that is not real bad. It consists of a 1/2 cup of the fiber one cereal and a cup of low fat vanilla yogurt. The fiber one is the one that looks like little terds. My mom has always eaten it and I have always refused until yesterday and really it is pretty good. Plus that type of cereal is 0 points. Basically if you like yogurt and granola then you would probably like this. You should try it!

Asian Orange Chicken

Here's a recipe that I made this week for freezer cooking. I used 4 T. of brown sugar and no white sugar. I also just used 3 cut up, grilled chicken breasts instead of following this recipe and frying the chicken.

If you ate 1/4 of this recipe with 1/2 cup of brown rice, it's 7 WW points. I would also add some steamed vegetables to make it more like stir-fry. We had plenty of extra sauce, so I will definitely throw in some more veggies next time.

Spreadsheet

Lisa was nice enough to make a very neat spreadsheet for everybody's weight. Don't forget to enter your weight if you're going to utilize that tool.

It's Weigh-In Day

Don't forget to weigh yourself in today!

I will post an official weigh-in after WW tonight, but I'm guessing that I'm down 2 pounds. Very happy about that!

Weekend Challenges

Lots of challenges over the weeked, especially going to 2 demolition derbies. I missed 2 meals and did a lot of snacking.

I did my best to count all the points, though. I think I pretty much burned up all my weekly allowance points.

How did you guys do over the weekend?

Goal Setting

I've taken some time tonight to think about my goals. Of course, I have a big overall goal--a number that I eventually want to see on the scale. But, it's overwhelming to think about that right now. That's still really far away for me. Instead, I'm focusing on smaller goals. I used this strategy during January to spring of 2008 and it was really helpful. During that time, I even wrote my weight goals in on my calendar and REALLY stuck to them.

I've set two mini-goals for myself: to lose ten pounds by the time school starts (4 weeks from now) and to lose 40 pounds by my birthday (16 weeks from now). Both of those work out to be 2.5 pounds per week. That may be a bit too lofty, but hey, goals are supposed to be challenging, right? Once I hit those, I will be ready to look closer at my overall goal of losing more than I weigh.

So, let's hear it. What's the first goal that you have for yourself during this challenge?

I don't know the points!

Those sound so good. I am not real sure about the amount of points different things are and I really don't know what is completely off limits or if anything is. My understanding of WW is that nothing is really off limits but it is all about portion control. Like I said I don't know points but I 'think' fresh fruits and veggies are 0 but please correct me if I am wrong.

We are having steak (are different kind different points?), zucchini and mushrooms on the grill, pineapple, and probably baked potatoes. Then later tonight we will probably have yogurt ice cream as dessert. I don't know how many points this would be though.

Jamie, do you have a lot of the books with the point system or do you know if Jake will get that stuff? I am just curious to know the points.

Ginger Lime Chicken Skewers

Dinner for the Damings tonight will be Ginger Lime Chicken Skewers. We love these, so I thought I would share the recipe. The girls are always ready for "chicken on a stick". I'm using pre-cut chicken tenders today, since that's what I have and I'm counting it as three pieces for a serving. I figured that as 6 points. That leaves us plenty of room for some rice, veggies, and maybe even some oven fries.

Enjoy!

Weigh-in Day #1

Everyone be sure to weigh in today! Write it down somewhere safe. This is your starting weight. Try to be consistent as far as the time of day you are weighing in. For example, I weigh myself every morning first thing, so I will always use that number from each Tuesday.

Anyone want to make an Excel spreadsheet for everyone to track their weekly weights and maybe a percentage of weight lost???

Are you up for it?

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to lose weight.

Sounds simple, doesn't it? If only that were true!

We all know that it's much easier said than done. So, why not do it together? Join my challenge and not only will you be working to lose weight, you will also be helping everyone else along the way. This can be a good way to check up on each other and provide encouragement along the way, with a little friendly competition.

I'm thinking that we need a weekly weigh-in day. We can use the honor system and you can then post how much weight you have lost (or gained). Anyone have an opinion on a good weigh-in day?

So, if you are not too intimidated by my title of SMS Biggest Loser of 2008, hurry up and accept this challenge by making a comment. But hurry, this message will self destruct in 10 seconds.
